A little about us
When you ask Kassie Pebworth, the owner of Big Trees Nursery in Kanarraville, Utah what she is most proud of, she is likely to tell you, “I love what I do!”
Kassie started working for Big Trees Nursery in the summer of 2002. As a young Southern Utah University student studying business and botany, this summer job between classes was a perfect match. After graduating from SUU Kassie was promoted to general manager, and in 2007 took over full ownership.
“It was a scary thing, buying the nursery and becoming owner,” Kassie says about her decision to take over Big Trees Nursery. “We knew we would never be the biggest nursery in southern Utah, but we knew we could be the best. So we try and provide the highest quality plant material and best customer service in southern Utah, and we love what we do!”
In addition to running a successful nursery, Kassie is also the proud mother of 3 very active little boys and a newly added little girl. Her husband, Lonnie who manages their growing farm and planting operation says, “In my professional life I’ve learned a very simple principle. No matter how important to an operation we think we are, we are all replaceable… with the one exception of my wife and boss. Without Kassie, it would all come crashing down around us.
In her role as wife, mother, small business owner, and community volunteer, Kassie is responsible for many things and has much to be proud of.
With over 15 years of nursery experience under her belt, Kassie has become a valuable asset to many local landscapers and is known as a trusted source of knowledge by homeowners throughout southern Utah.
